Merry Christmas 2015!

Dear friends and family,

We hope you had a wonderful holiday season this year. We wanted to share a few words and pictures of what our family has been up to this year with all of you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you!

Love, Sheldon and LaWynn Murphy and family.

We thought about forgoing the foto, as we are ‘ageless’. Highlights of the year were monthly cousins dinners with our college-age grandkids, and some weddings and expected funerals. Sheldon is the third oldest man in our ward. Hummm. LaWynn has had bouts of vertigo and falling; she claims it is anxiety over Sheldon. He is immersed in projects: starting a new company, NU Innovations LLC, where are portrayed five new developed products (nuinnovations.net). They have successfully produced a truly ‘flushable wet wipe’ and are approaching companies about its manufacture. Finally, Sheldon is completing his tenth book, Missionary Tips – What You Can Know Now, Rather Than at the End. Also, we host monthly firesides at which good speakers treat a variety of gospel topics. BYU concerts, plays and ball games fill out our year.

Shalynn and Jon Sedgwick and family

The Singing Sedgwick are together again with Jon, Shalynn, Jolysa, Jenica and Shalese entertaining in CT: on the streets of Westport and in numerous nursing homes, rest homes and assisted living centers enjoyed their Christmas music. Jonelle was missing as she is serving a Spanish-speaking Mission for the Church in Arizona. Scott and Kate welcomed their second boy, Oliver, finished up classes at BYU this December, so that Kate, he and the boys can head for Austin TX to begin work as an electrical engineer. Jolysa graduated from BYU in April and now works for Franklin-Covey in Salt Lake. Shalese finished her Mission in Estonia and Connecticut. Jenica completed an exciting internship at Parthenon Counseling NYC (part on of Ernst and Young).

Brian and Louise Murphy and family

Brian put in 275,000 miles in air travel this year. But another (and much more exciting!) first is being a grandfather. Louise and he love having Lauren, Lincoln and baby Lincoln in NYC, where they can easily visit. Jake and Kayleen bought a house in Lehi where Jake works with IMG Marketing and Kayleen is attending UVU in accounting. Jared completed a Spanish-speaking mission in Las Vegas, Nevada last year, and has been attending BYU. He spent the summer in Jerusalem, and was accepted in the Marriott School of Business this fall. Katie is in her second year of Exercise Science at UVU and living in Orem.

Blake and Dana Murphy and family

The most exciting thing for Blake's family is that he and Dana have been called as mission presidents for the Church to serve in the Ecuador Quito North mission. They leave July 1, 2016 and are very excited. Their youngest son Cole will be going with them for all three years. They also had two new grandbabies born this year: Graham Blake Leininger and Cora Faye Giullian. Alyse and Tommy Leininger (and two boys, Dane and Graham) live in Frisco, Texas, and Camille and Brandon Giullian (with Cora) live in Miami where Brandon is in his second year of PA school. Dallin returned home from his mission to the Dominican Republic and is attending BYU and living with his brother Austin. Bethany is a senior in high school and is busy with college applications and high school basketball.

Klane and Llilli Murphy and family

Three exciting events occurred this year: Madsen completed a very productive mission for the Church in the Ukraine. Anyone for a Russian speaker? Their daughter, Brinley, married a wonderful man, Tyler Popp, in the Salt Lake Temple this summer, and she graduated from BYU this year. Klane and Llilli's second son, Walker, received a call and is serving a mission for the Church in Guatemala. Mac and Hutton keep Dad busy coaching and driving to lacrosse tournaments. Both boys are excellent student and players, as were their older brothers.

LaDawn and John Stone and family

Life is pure chaos…with four boys from 8 to 16 years, scheduling activities, practices, games and now dates and dances. Wow! Cameron played wide receiver in football; Harrison is a speedy guard on the basketball team, and Jackson and Lincoln can hold their own against their siblings. Lincoln was baptized this year by big brother Cameron and LaWynn was able to go for it. John and LaDawn took the boys to the Las Vegas Bowl game, which BYU lost to Utah 35-28. Cameron came to Utah to visit grandparents and go snowboarding with friends last week, and we saw them all this summer for a few weeks.
